Word of the Week

I introduced the Word of the Week to help us improve our working knowledge of the English language. Your part if you choose to participate is to be aware of and use each word for the entire week whenever the opportunity presents itself. This way we will all increase our vocabulary and our knowledge of the English language supplying us with a very effective tool to utilize on our road to success.

te·mer·i·ty /təˈmerəti/ noun

the quality of being confident and unafraid of danger or punishment.

From a poem entitled “It’s No Surprise”

“Eyes exuding sincerity,

understanding, temerity,

is why I love you.”

“Men do not attract that which they want, but that which they are.” - James Allen

You must dig deep into your core beliefs and discover who you are. Why you believe what you believe about life and how you formed those beliefs or were programmed to believe the things that have formed your character traits and habits. Once this is accomplished you can see where you ARE now as a person and compare it with where you WANT to be as a person. You can look at your present beliefs, character traits and habits and analyze them.

Any that do not support the person you wish to become, the success in life you desire, must be extinguished and replaced by thoughts that will become your new beliefs, character traits and habits to support your worthy ideal. If your core beliefs do not harmonize with your desires you will never experience them. It will only be WISHFUL THINKING.

You must become or at least begin to think and behave in such a way as to attract the type of success you desire. Find someone who has already experienced success. STUDY their behaviors. GET inside their mind. SEE what made them successful and emulate the things they do. BECOME that type of person for they possess the beliefs, character traits and habits necessary for the type of success you desire.

“In order to have we must first become” - Marshall Page

Attitude

Enthusiasm + Expectancy = RESULTS

I am always grateful for the opportunity of going into the gym and training with intensity and the attitude of expectancy.

Have you witnessed how some people at your gym never seem to make much progress? They come in week after week but somehow look the same and in some cases even worse. Some make progress in the beginning but then taper off, never improving beyond a certain level.

Then of course you have seen those who after even just a few weeks look fabulous. They have dropped 15 to 20 lbs., have gained a significant amount of muscle or look toned with a healthy glow to them. They always seem to be improving. So what’s the difference? They train in the same environment, with the same equipment, and the same personal trainers available to them. Genetics I hear you say. There is some truth to that but genetics are not the major difference for I have seen many with seemingly poor genetics make great progress and continue to do so.

I recall a training and nutritional program I designed for two brothers. No, one was not fat and the other skinny with the metabolism of a propane furnace. They were basically identical. So why was it that the one brother lost 27.5 lbs. in three weeks and the other only 8? The major difference lies in the attitude of mind. One treated the program like a religion while the other went through the motions.

Earl Nightingale has coined Attitude as “THE MAGIC WORD.” If you can bring an attitude of enthusiasm and expectancy to your training session on a consistent basis you will get the results you desire. Your rate of progress will be determined by the level of enthusiasm and expectancy you generate. You must approach your training as the lion does her prey, relishing the chase, anticipating the kill and expecting a successful result. The lion has no doubt about the outcome.

Through the 4X6 PROGRAMS and the Seven Pillars of Strength we learn how to program this attitude into our subconscious mind for maximum progressive RESULTS.

Realizing Continual Improvement

I am so happy and grateful for the ability we alone have to constantly improve on OURSELVES. There is a specific LAW however that governs the degree to which we can improve. It is as SURE and as dependant as any mathematical law. It is called the Law of Compensation. I am sure you will recognize it. Simply, you REAP whatsoever you SOW, or you get OUT of anything what you put IN.

Many of us fall into the trap of COMPLACENCY, accepting sub maximal performance when it comes to our training, which of course results in DIMINISHING RETURNS. Some allow outside influences they have little or no control over to affect their training negatively. Realize YOU are the only one responsible for the quality of your workout regardless of your environment or circumstance. Only YOU can give permission to something or someone to reduce your performance.

Back in 1954 on the way to a competition an accomplished athlete was worrying and stressing himself because the weather was not ideal for his race. It was windy and raining. His coach, sensing the athletes’ distress, looked at him and said with confidence, “you can do it.” That day Roger Bannister went out and broke the four-minute mile. He realized from his coach’s words that he alone was responsible for his performance, NO EXCUSES.

If you wish to experience continual improvement don’t allow yourself to fall into the trap of laziness or blaming outside influences for a poor workout. TAKE CONTROL through proper thought selection and self motivational techniques.

The 4X6 PROGRAMS and the Seven Pillars of Strength will show you how.

Guarantee Your Training Success

You may be surprised to discover the most important component to your training / exercise / fitness success has NOTHING to do with the physical. It is important to realize that without any exception, SUCCESS in any endeavor in life begins in the MIND.

Your success is directly proportionate to the THOUGHTS you choose. We are never given a desire to accomplish anything in life unless that desire is a possibility for us. Whether we are successful in realizing that desire will be determined by our thought selection. It is imperative all your thoughts support your desire. We must IMMEDIATELY DISCARD any thought that does not support and move us in the direction of our exercise goals. Even in mid thought, it is essential to identify any negative ideas and REPLACE these thoughts with positive motivating thoughts.

These positive motivating thoughts are the SEEDS we plant which filter down into the subconscious mind and in time become HABIT. We must cultivate and nurture these thoughts until they become strong and take root in the subconscious.

There is a definite process which, when followed, cannot fail to bring you the SUCCESS you desire.

This process is outlined in detail in the 4X6 PROGRAMS and the SEVEN PILLARS of STRENGTH.

No more guesswork, just maximum results.

Thinking causes feelings
Feelings cause actions
Actions give results

You Should Know a Little About Me

I have been a fitness enthusiast all my life. From a very early age I have always been involved in some form of sport. I participated in track and field, gymnastics, soccer, wrestling, hockey and all the usual public and high school sports.

At age 14, I seriously began the study of weight training, martial arts and sports nutrition. I devoted eight years to various disciplines of the martial arts before finally concentrating solely on body building, strength training and sports nutrition. In 1986, after graduating from ICS in Montreal with the Highest Honors in Fitness and Nutrition, I opened Ultimate Sports & Fitness Private Training Studios where I devote my time to studying and developing sports specific nutritional programs tailored to meet each client's individual requirements. At the same time I have managed to develop a successful, natural competitive body building career for myself.

I have trained and studied in literally hundreds of gyms across North America. From these experiences, both positive and negative, I have EARNED a wealth of hands-on practical training that I am hoping to pass on to anyone who is willing to listen. My insatiable appetite for learning has kept me current with the latest training and nutritional information. I am continually testing new techniques to find what works best for my clients and constantly researching and evaluating the latest theories or fads to determine their value before implementing them into my programs or recommending them to you.

Over the past 30 years, through fitness and personal coaching, I have helped numerous clients gain more confidence, develop their self esteem and realizing a better quality of life through guiding them as they set and attain their fitness, nutritional and personal goals.

How can I help you?

My motto: BELIEVE ---- PERSIST ---- ACHIEVE
